Winter on the Oregon Coast

Winter on the Oregon Coast

Wow, this snow storm was a bit of a surprise!! Snow used to be pretty rare here on the Beautiful Central Oregon Coast, but these last several years it seems to have become a regular occurrence. There was even snow on the sand with this storm. Dan and “Bob” investigate the newly white yard. We actually live about 10 miles from the ocean in the foothills of the Coast Range.

The sun came up just long enough to melt the snow on the driveway then the temp dropped again and left a sheet of ice in it’s place!! That’s OK, we have food, plenty of wood and the water is still running . . . . the high has reached 36* today and I could get out if I wanted to . . . but it is so peaceful here . . . think I’ll make something . . . . . All that snow inspired this ‘Winter White Fringe Bag’ that I hand crafted from a single white deer hide that I had been saving for awhile. The buttons are replicas of the Indian Head nickel.
